Oddball

Real Name: Elton Healy

First Appearance: Hawkeye 3

What's His Problem? Quite possibly the world's most skillful juggler (and certainly the world's most sadistic one), Oddball is a mercenary who delights in jobs ranging from assassination to abduction, so long as there's cash and kicks in it.

Abilities: Oddball is an expert juggler with phenomenal reflexes and hand-eye coordination. His preferred juggling objects are spheres, which he can pitch with great force and flawless accuracy. Oh, pah-leeze! He throws balls at people, okay? That's his whole shtick! editor Jeanne

Weapons: Oddball always carries a supply of throwing spheres on his person; some of these are solid metal or hard plastic, capable of seriously injuring or even killing a person if thrown with sufficient force. Other balls are hollow spheres gimmicked with special payloads and devices, such as incendiary charges, explosives, sonics, acids and gases. Most of these activate on impact. Oddball also carries marbles which he uses to upset his opponents' footing.

Favorite Quote: "One of these four balls that I, Oddball, the world's greatest juggler on Earth, am juggling is a bomb designed to go off if it drops to the ground. If you make me miss ... I won't be held responsible for the damage. Nyah-nyah." (Hawkeye 3)

Heroes He Keeps Running Into: Oddball has attempted to kill or kidnap Hawkeye on several occasions. He's also bounced off Captain America, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Hawkeye's late wife, Mockingbird.

People Who Think He's Not So Bad: The beauteous Bombshell tolerated Oddball's amorous advances long enough to learn juggling from him, but his best pals are his teammates in the Death Throws--a team of criminal jugglers (I kid you not!). Death Throws members include Ringleader, Knickknack, Tenpin (Elton's brother Alvin) and, formerly, Bombshell. More recently, Oddball briefly joined the Masters of Evil under Doctor Octopus.

Most Despicable Act: Maiming an innocent bystander who made fun of him (Hawkeye 3). As Hawkeye put it, "This guy's too sick to be my regular foe!"
