IRON MAN ANNUAL #3
(1976) "More or Less...the Return of the Molecule Man!" Cover art: Rich Buckler & Frank Giacoia. Script: Steve Gerber. Art: Sal Buscema/Jack Abel.
As Tony Stark rebuilds an Everglades town, Iron Man battles a young girl who has been possessed by the psyche of the Molecule Man. The Man-Thing shambles in to help out in his own special way. Sub-standard art and Gerber's convoluted, self-conscious writing make this one for completists and fans of the off-beat only.
xkot's Recommendation: 2 repulsors!
Fan Reaction: IRON MAN ANNUAL #3 was a pretty good Man-Thing story. I can see, I think, why you didn't like it...Gerber isn't a "typical" high-tech Iron Man writer. But if you're a Manny fan (I am), you can get off to the return of Richard Rory, the neat subplot featuring the "Iron Girl", the fun bits where she argues with the Molecule Man, and the engaging human bits of the story. They don't ALL have to be shootouts with the Mandarin, y'know. --
