Anthony Stark has an announcement to make at a Stark press conference -- Stark Industries will never again manufacture weapons for the government! This includes the MP1-2100 battle suit better known as War Machine. Instead, the armor design will be incorporated into the SI1-221 bodyguard armor - better known as Iron Man -- for the defense of Stark and friends. The press conference ends with Stark stating that "you will never again see the War Machine armor...". Fortunately for us, the readers, we do see WM again, immediately. What follows is a great action sequence that shows us just how tough the armor is, although the plot of the action is a bit tough to follow. True to its MAX banner, the issue's climax is very violent. Not a bad start to the maxi-series. Extra patch added for the 'Skeletor' MODOK.

Hube's Response: Great start to this innovative new series! The CG armored images are first-rate, along with anything else of a "techno" nature. The "regular people" images aren't as bad as some have made them out to be; their only defect is their "similarity" -- many of the characters' facial features are too akin to one another. (For example, what's the difference between the woman hostage of AIM in this ish, and Sheva Josephs later on?) Very cool highway action sequence, along with neat, strategically-placed sound effects.
