WAR MACHINE #12

(March, 1995) "Streets of Philadelphia." Cover art: Kev Hopgood. Script: Dan Abnett. Art: Dave Chlystek/Tim Dzon.

Jim Rhodes has a new War Machine outfit courtesy of Tony Stark, and he's headed back to his home town of Philly. His folks are not exactly happy that he's dating a white woman, Rae LaCoste, so Jim angrily exits his parents' place and revisits old friends. Elsewhere, a group dubbed the "Rush Club" has taken to action -- they are outfitted with powered armor and they pay some sucker to be their "quarry" in an armor-powered fight! Rhodey hears about this scrap on his police-band receiver, and joins the fight! He easily deals with "Gunship," but is then pummelled silly by "Locomotive Breath" (I'm not kidding) and "Sanction"!!
