TOS 39 "Iron Man Is Born!"

Tony Stark is in the defense perimeter in his lab showing off his latest invention - powerful transistors. "They can increase the force of any device, a thousand fold." A brief introduction is given of Tony as a millionaire bachelor and scientist comfortable in both worlds. Cut back to South Vietnam, we are introduced to Wong-Chu, a warlord who is terrorizing the people backed by it's hinted as Communist China. Tony is leading the military showing off his latest munitions when he trips over a booby trap that explodes through his back and chest. Tony is taken by Wong-Chu, and he offers to save his life if Tony will build him a powerful new weapon. Professor Yinsen, the world renown physicist is delivered to the room to help Tony. They work until the first Iron Man suit is made with a chest piece that keeps the shrapnel from getting close to Tony's heart. While it charges, the enemy approaches, Prof. Yinsen sacrifices himself to allow Iron Man to be born.
