Tony Stark is at the lab testing an antigravity device when Happy Hogan thinks he's saving him, which causes Tony to drop the device and fuse the circuits. This means Tony cannot duplicate it. He lets the Pentagon know and demonstrate the ray but lets them know he cannot duplicate it. Word leaks out as a photographer somehow gets on site and takes a picture of the device. The U.S.S.R. sees it as does Natasha "The Black Widow," who has been in hiding and writes a note to see Tony Stark. Tony shows her the device as she is "sorry" for her past sins. She paralyzes Tony with a chemical and takes the device. Natasha uses it to steal jewels and contacts the Comrade Leader. She attacks each of Stark's plants as Iron Man follows behind correcting the damage. She is one step ahead destroying each factory and facility. The Red Leader sends underlings and takes the anti-gravity device and sends a car flying. This is the mistake Iron Man was waiting for, finding the location and attacking. Natasha gets it back and attacks Iron Man dropping a building on him. His strength holds it off him. Iron Man goes on the attack as they head to Fort Knox moving the mountain. Iron Man catches 2 - 40 ton tanks. Iron Man uses a proton electric charge to disrupt the device and the mountain falls. Iron Man saves the 2 communists as the look on in disbelief. They are dispatched to the police as Natasha gets away with the disabled device.
