TOS 55 "No one escapes the Mandarin!"

Iron Man is trapped by the Mandarin. He tells the Mandarin Tony has probably found the anti-missile missiles. It sends the Mandarin away to look for Stark. orld leaders, Iron Man gets away and tunnels underneath his lab. He destroys the equipment hypnotizing world leaders. Iron Man drained his suit and the daughter of Doctor Strange provide Iron Man with flashlight batteries enough to recharge part of the suit and escape. Iron Man has a miniature generator that will bring the suit back up to power. Once charged, Iron Man breaks free of the steel cables and follows the Mandarin with silent jet mode. He finds where the missiles are being held and finds that a ray is drawing them to the castle. Iron Man flies and diverts the missile from being taken. As Iron Man is captured in the beam, he is drawn through a window and dislodges a piece of stone and hurls it at the ray's source destroying it. Mandarin fires a disintegration ray from his pinky ring. Iron Man barely escapes and finds a way to send the missiles back, hitching a ride. The Mandarin vows revenge!

This issue tells about Iron Man's enemies and a behind the scenes look at the briefcase and cutaway armor showing what's inside and how things work. Pods are shown here for spare radio parts but never were actually used in the main comic until the Pre-classic armor.
