Tony Stark is in his private lab fearing taking off his armor, feeling trapped. Pepper and Happy scour the city for Tony Stark, then when finding nothing confront Iron Man on the whereabouts of Tony. Iron Man says Tony is on confidential business and would not disclose his location. They hint that Iron Man could be in the wrong not watching over Tony or even doing something to hold Tony hostage and no one would know. Iron Man goes into the office and gets money out of the safe and gets caught as Happy and Pepper called the police. They find a note that is in Stark's handwriting but no fingerprints. Iron Man flees making him look suspicious, potentially harming Tony Stark. Iron Man contacts the Avengers to miss their meeting, and Thor confronts Iron Man on the missing Tony Stark. Iron Man denies any wrong doing. Black Widow convinces Hawkeye to get to Stark Industries while Tony is away on a mission of international peace. He believes the lie. He gets into the private office of Stark and takes Pepper as hostage. Iron Man blasts through the roof. Meanwhile Natasha is picked up by the Communists and led back to an Iron Curtain slave nation. Iron Man separates Hawkeye from Pepper Potts, and Hawkeye destroys the chains holding the new Uranus II rocket. He carries the rocket to safety, while Hawkeye escapes. The authorities arrive and Happy with an antiarmor gun. But, Pepper stops them as Iron Man saved her life. Iron Man flies away.
