Iron Man stands over the body of Happy Hogan and in the distance is Titanium Man. Titanium Man attacks with his Shatter-Blast ray. Iron Man dodges in his electronically activated flexible metal armor. Iron Man's speed is avoiding the blasts as Iron Man goads him on hoping he'll lose his temper. Iron Man feigns falling and then draws Titanium Man in then blasts away. Titanium Man begins to run, but Iron Man's speed is too much, and he tosses Titanium Man away. Iron Man begins to use negative particles to drain away Titanium Man's strength. The Communists watching think Iron Man must be cheating and the free people rally that Iron Man is winning as an ambulance takes Happy away. Senator Byrd wonders why Tony Stark is nowhere to be seen. Iron Man has Titanium Man trapped when he pulls away a rock exposing a hidden missile locked on Iron Man. Iron Man uses the reverser ray that Happy brought and inactivates the rocket's thrust causing it to fall to Earth. Iron Man catches up with Titanium Man and uses the reverser ray on him causing him to lose all power. Iron Man tosses him around and flies him to the top of some rocks where he surrenders. Iron Man takes his helmet and leaves him for his fellow Reds. Iron Man won the contest, but quickly leaves to go check on Happy Hogan. Pepper and the Countess De La Spirosa wait for Tony Stark when the doctor comes out and says they have done all they could and sent for a specialist from Vienna. They both complain that Tony Stark is heartless to miss being there for Iron Man and Happy Hogan. Tony is on a bed trying to recharge before he dies. Tony finally emerges to talk to Pepper ignoring the Countess. She leaves in disgust. The specialist arrives and begins surgery all through the night. Happy is still hanging on but Pepper despises Tony, her boss who she thinks was not there for Iron Man or Happy.
