Featuring the following heroine!

Snowbird

Real Name: Narya.
AKA:Anne McKenzie.

First appearance: Uncanny X-Men #120

Died In: Alpha Flight 44.

Favorite quote: "Perhaps not, beast. But now ... neither have you!!" (Alpha Flight 23. Snowbird's response when the demon monster Tanaraq taunted her with lacking the -- ahem -- heart for battle. Proving once again you should never bait a demi-goddess if you want to keep your internal organs intact).

Team affiliation: A founding member of Alpha Flight, Snowbird is married to mountie Douglas Thompson, and has an infant son. Whether or not this should all be in the past tense is open for debate, seeing as immortals are involved...

Powers: Snowbird is half human, and half ... well, non-human. The result of a union between a mortal and the goddess Nelvanna, Snowbird was conceived to fight ancient evils on the physical plane. She is a metamorph who can take on the shape of any Arctic creature. When in creature form, she takes on the strengths and instincts of the animal, which once led to a standoff between her arctic wolverine and the X-Man of the same name. Snowbird also possesses what she calls "post-cognitive" powers; she can stand on the site of an event and re-construct what happened.

Favorite Storyline: Alpha Flight 6, where Snowbird takes on the living embodyment of winter, Kolomaq, in one of the best fight sequences ever not seen in comics!

Least favorite storyline: Alpha Flight 37-45, a convulated plot that resulted in the death of her baby and her husband. Ug. (What is it Marvel has against families, anyway?)
