Iron Man V8 Issue 1 - We open with a person seemingly reliving Tony Stark's kidnapped days in Asia where he built his first full Iron Man armor. A.I.M. soldiers fire at him and wound him. Madame Masque removes the mask and see that it is a man, not Tony Stark who built the flawed armor. He asks to try again, and she says no armor is needed but another Tony Stark as she finishes him off. We break to see Iron Man in his Mysterium armor fighting Blizzard who stole a Roxxon battery to power his armor. IM takes him down. Tony is late to a ceremony where the Tony Stark award will be given to the best and brightest student. Stark shows up in a hoverbike. He awards the honor to Adam Ware. We see Citizen V in the shadows. Madame Masque kidnaps Pepper Potts and the hoverbike turns into Iron Man armor. Melinda May calls and says that the kidnapping of Pepper was a red herring to get Adam Ware. Tony goes to work and Pepper and Melinda show up at the Gamma bunker where the Hulk was born. He suits up in his latest armor. IM makes a call to Cap to meet him, but ends with Cap and a team of Avengers going to go after Iron Man.
Iron Man V8 Issue 2 - We open with Tony recalling his misadventures of his fights with Madame Masque, the daughter of Count Nefaria. Tony remembers her capturing his suitcase armor and capturing her, then ending up with her. He tells her what he is scared of, not weapons, but another Tony Stark, another inventor. This had Tony create a plan for just that scenario. Modern day, Captain America is helping Tony fight Dreadsquires, Latverians dressed like the Dreadknight. While fighting, Tony gets a call from Luna Lucia asking him out to dinner. Tony leaves looking for those who Whitney kidnapped. Captain America talks to someone saying they need to keep an eye on Tony. Meanwhile, A.I.M. takes its hostage Adam Ware to a cage where other young people are being held. All of these were up for the Tony Stark award, specializing in different fields. Adam beat them all. The Fixer is overseeing their containment. They are kept by technology created by Arcade, Mojo, and Mysterio. Tortuous experiments designed to push their creativity. We see Pepper visiting May who is working to find the kidnapped. Iron Man takes out known A.I.M. bases and past HQs throughout the world. Tony heads to Madipoor and visits a nightclub looking for answers. Tony wipes the floor with the bouncers and sees M.O.D.O.K. He wants to know where Madame Masque is. A.I.M. attacks and M.O.D.O.K. fears for his own life. Iron Man fights to defend him.
Iron Man V8 Issue 3 - We open in an unnamed A.I.M. base with a Dr. Doeger partially phased through a wall. The Fixer and Madame Masque are discussion the inventions of their geniuses that they kidnapped. He tried to escape to a parallel world and ran out of energy. What about the rest? Others are up to a lot, but Adam Ware is thinking after he hacked into their communications briefly. He wasn't trying to escape like the others, he was concerned about their health. So, Madame Masque sends violent motivation for him, several A.I.M. agents beat him. Meanwhile Iron Man is defending M.O.D.O.K. in Madripoor. The girls put M.O.D.O.K. back in a harness, and he attacks Iron Man. Citizen V steps in to defend Iron Man and put down M.O.D.O.K. as well as A.I.M. He then slips in the darkness "we are watching you." M.O.D.O.K. admits that Whitney Frost and A.I.M. are at war with him. Since Doom, all are vying for control of A.I.M. and the scientific resources. Iron Man takes him with him as he flies away. He contacts Melinda May to find out about, A.I.M.'s civil war and apparently drops his prisoner off at the Vault. Tony is late for his date. Tony and Lucia visit about creating things. They have a moment, then Pepper shows up, awkward. Melinda calls. She updates Tony. Madame Masque has been traveling in his personal Helicarrier when he was head of the D.O.D. that Tony thought was destroyed. Tony takes the new armor in a stealth armor mode and breaks into the flying fortress. Madame Masque confronts him as a hologram. And captures Tony - having all the files of Tony's evil ideas that he deleted.
