Iron & Frost

Iron & Frost 1: This is a story of the Age of Revelation. Revelation is Doug Ramsey. X (Ten) years ago, the X-Virus swept across the eastern United States turning millions into Mutants. Doug Ramsey as Revelation set up a refuge for them when the U.S. government tried to bomb them. Revelation turned the bomb on Washington D.C. and took over the U.S. The story starts 6 years ago at Avengers Mansion where Iron Man and War Machine fight off Seraphim (Mutants of Revelation). Emma Frost is almost lethally wounded and takes her Diamond form to stay alive while Iron Man rescues a young mutant from being taken by Revelation. The child's mother is killed by the virus. And, Tony takes the girl (Landslide) and Firestar and hides out in the Mansion that was partially destroyed in the battle and earthquake. Emma finally escapes and finds Tony in what is left of the Mansion. He has changed to the Iron King (flesh is Iron).

Tony Stark is the Iron King, mutated by the X-Virus to become a golden machine of sorts. He is trying to find a cure. Eris Vale AKA Landslide is with him and her father we are told is James Rhodes who arrives as War Machine chased by Phaser an Acolyte of Revelation. Emma's chest has a hole in it from Marrow who tried to kill Eris but Emma intervened last issue. Emma is stuck in her diamond form to stay alive and is hoping that Tony can help get her a new heart. Tony has merged with the suit and fighting it for control. He seems to kill Phaser the Seraphim of Revelation. War Machine's armor is compromised in the fight and Rhodey begins to mutate. Tony's modified extremis virus is used - twice on Rhodey which stabilizes him, then it adapts again and Rhodey lights up, when the Iron King appears to fire a chest beam at the mutating Rhodey.

Landslide attacks the Iron King for killing the mutated Rhodey Rhodes, her adopted father. She buries the Iron King in rocks. The stasis fields that were holding the mutates are weakened, and they break free. The Iron King (Tony merged with his suit of Armor) activates the War Machine armor. The War Machine armor begins attacking the Mutates as the Iron King is apparently in control. Then, we hear Tony's voice from the shell of the War Machine armor to attacks the Iron King. The War Machine (Tony Stark 2.0 - rebuild mind avatar) begins to surround Emma Frost and stuns the mutates and explains how Tony was consumed by the Iron King but made this program - second mind of Tony Stark. This ghost in the machine is explaining that the Iron King is powered by a shrunk down Firestar a minute before meltdown. Tony takes the War Machine amour that has enveloped Emma into the past. The Iron King advances time forward to initiate a global explosion of Firestar to end the virus. Emma changes back and without a heart begins to die. She reaches the real Tony Stark in the Iron King armor. It works, then she dies. The Iron King takes over again and Firestar explodes. The message does go back in time. What will happen next?

Tony is trapped in the past, tired and ill. It's been years. Tony works on building a time machine and cannot get it. Every time it explodes. He finally turns to Hank Pym for help. Then, all the heroes that he came into contact with suddenly show up in the lab and begin to fight Phoenix. Iron Man, Johnny Storm, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Dazzler, and Cyclops. Phoenix blasts Power Man, but Iron Man gets in the way and is destroyed. But, Tony Stark in the present is still there with Birch. Yellow Jacket shows up and reprograms the robots to stop the Phoenix, she stops them. Then the heroes attack her while she is weakened by the attack. She passes out. Birch dies from the cancer and failure of his life. Hank sends back the team. Later Tony sees the heroes at dinner except for the Human Torch who is presumed dead in the present. They toast his heroism. They toast the future!
